During our trip to the Oosterschelde we wanted to visit the storm surge barrier Neeltje Jans. It is always impressive to see how the Dutch managed to protect their lands after the floods of 1953 and create new land from the sea. Here you see the Oosterschelde surge barrier, one of the longest dykes of the Delta works. In the damming on the sea side, mussels are also cultivated and a seal can sporadically be seen here.
